The Merkur 25001 offers a great shave, being on the milder side when it comes to open comb razors, but still able to take down growth with little effort. It is a lighter weight razor compared to many that weight 20-30g more, and the handle is thinner than average. I did not find this to be problematic as I had initially expected. The grips is good. At it's price I think it represents a very good buy.

Excellent razor.
I started with the gillete king c DE safety razor, i was getting irritation with it and felt liie getting something with a little more umph.
I watched many videos and reviews saying this is the most aggressive razor, so i was wondering if i made the right choice as I'm still new to shaving with safety razor..
This razor works, i don't even get 10% of the irritation i did as i need less passes. I'm still using those derby blades in a green box and they pair together nicely.
There's no need for me to buy another safety razor now because, this is the one!
What's next? Possibly a straight razor or shavette.

Merkur progress gives a nice shave, im still experimenting with blades, but not had a bad shave, Kai blades seem to suit me best at the moment but ill keep experimenting.

Smells fresh , very thick texture , leaves skin feeling smooth
