I put off buying one of these for two years having ventured into the double edge safety razer scene with a budget £7 butterfly handle from eBay. The difference with that & the Henson is night and day. I braved getting the medium aggressive version & found it to be smooth, smooth, smooth. I regularly nicked myself with the cheap eBay handle especially with a fresh blade. That is now a thing of the past since I splashed out on the Henson. For anyone thinking about getting one, do it. It is well worth it for the shave experience you will get from it.

I bought this razor as a step up from the Feather Popular.
I used the blade that came with it and was able to shave without bleeding!
I will try the Feather High Stainless next!

Wow, and wow, this medium Henson razor is something else. Super smooth BBS shave. The ingenious design helps you find the perfect angle and 2-3 days growth can be mown down with ease. A bit more aggressive than my other razors but in a good way.

I ordered the Henson AL13 safety razor for my son as birthday gift - I received it the next day. My husband ordered one for himself from Henson Shaving directly - ordered a few days before my order and still not arrived - so Male Grooming Supplies have been brilliant.

I have been shaving with a Feather AS-D2 since 2014, a great razor that has allowed me to shave every day with little or no dramas. I use an Astra blue blade - Cella soap/cream with a synthetic brush . This being the best combo for me. (having tried most blades/soaps) Recently, as a result of seeing reviews about the Henson razor's ability I bought one - the Medium (++) and was so impressed that I bought another one for my youngest son. A particularly good aspect of this Henson are the wide channels that allow it to NOT clog up with lather and hair. The razor is easy to use in that finding the correct angle is obvious as you can just hear the blade doing it's thing, no pulling or tugging very smooth and reassuring that it's a close shave without cuts and weeps. Having said that it is possible as with any razor to draw blood if you press too firmly. So if you are considering a Japanese Feather AS-D2 at £170 or similar I would give thought to the (£75) Canadian Henson Al-13 as an alternative. In conclusion the AL-13 'Medium' gives me a closer smoother shave than the Feather at less than half the cost.

As a seventy year old man I’ve been shaving for a long long time and have used a lot of different razors in my time. My current razor, a hybrid made from the best bits of my other razors, was, I thought, the best shave I’ve had, until now. Having purchased a Henson Ti22 Titanium this is pure shaving bliss. I have dry sensitive skin and this razor gives a close, comfortable shave with no nicks or razor burn. Perfect.

Ever since I started shaving nearly 30 years ago, I've been plagued by sensitivity, particularly around the neck. Switching to DE razors around 15 years ago helped, this razor was the missing piece of the puzzle. Using this razor, AL-13, MediumI (++) I can do three passes on my neck with almost no irritation at all.

I have no other razors that are made as well as this. Anyone with an engineering penchant will appreciate the precision with which this razor is made. Expensive, yes. Worth every penny, also yes.

There's not a lot that could improve the razor itself. If I were to make a suggestion to Henson, it would be to be able to buy additional heads. I'd like to be able to add the aggressive head (+++), without having to buy a whole additional razor. I would also like to be able to buy a shorter handle in addition to the standard one.

If you're on the fence, I really don't think you'll regret this purchase.

The best razor I have ever held in my hand. Balance, weight, design, level of aggressiveness; it’s everything in a razor anyone needs for their daily shave.

I’m pleasantly surprised by the smoothness and thoroughness of this razor. I had hoped for a viable alternative to all this plastic based razors and so pleased I’ve found it!
