These blades are simply excellent
It has a soft texture.
The refreshing and subtle scent is pleasant.
I used a large boar bristle brush and got a great lather.
It also has excellent cost performance.
It's a shame I could only buy one.
The high density Chubby knot will give you a blissful experience.
However, they consume a lot of soap and cream.
Only 2 shaves in but I think I have it dialled... No pressure, let the razor do the work, short strokes => smooth as anything with no nicks or bleeds.
The razor itself is nicely machined aluminium, grippy and comfortable to hold.
Far better imo than a multi-blade, my old 1960's Gillette Adjustable, or my more recent goto Edwyn Jagger, although the latter remains excellent for its' price.

This is a nice compact adjustable that's easy to use - a classic Merkur design that starts at very mild, goes up to the level of Muhle Rocca and Edwin Jagger 2ONE6 with a larger blade gap and then beyond. The Futur is, it is true, more aggressive but also much larger and heavier, with a much fatter head. I prefer the "sports car" driving experience of the Progress, which now looks nice and smart with its chrome knob option and can be opened up beyond 5+ if you really need it. This is a brilliant litle travel razor, packing down very small (the handle split into two parts that nest one inside the other for storage but screw together.
Tip: don't nest with the male thread facing the female, bcecuase they can then screw together like that in transit and be difficult to separate).
The razor head is identical to the 15c and 25c and is a truly great classic open comb design that is both gentle and highly efficient. When you get the angle right it will shave on a par with a Fatip open comb (but without its alignment problems) and just a fraction behind the closeness of the justly renowned Muhle R41, which however takes an experienced hand to avoid nicks and weepers, especially shaving against the grain. With the Merkur open comb, on the other hand, it's almost impossible to put a foot (or hand and chin) wrong. MGS delivered next day with perfect packaging. Highly recommended.
This stand is just the item I had in mind for my various different brush handle width sizes. Simply either gently pull apart or push together the handle “prongs” to the desired width! The finish is also superb. There is no problem with the stand being unstable as it has plenty of weight and a thick rubber base pad. An added bonus is the facility to store either a safety or cartridge razor if preferred. I am very happy with the quality of the stand for the money and the excellent service of Male Grooming Supplies.

Their new formula (made in china) is rubbish. If they have any commercial sense they need to go back to their old formula asap.
