Merkur FUTUR Polished Adjustable Double Edge Safety Razor 701001 is a German-made adjustable razor with a polished chrome-plated finish. It uses standard double edge razor blades and has Merkur's Duo Clip top cap for blade changes.
The blade gap is adjusted by rotating the handle, making it possible to move between a milder daily shave and a closer setting for heavier growth. The 129g weight gives the razor a substantial feel in the hand.

I had a different version of this razor a few years ago and having liked the design and look I thought I'll take a gamble and buy the real thing as it's so appealing to look at. I've read many reviews and even watched YouTube videos about this razor so I've done me homework. My first shave with it was on setting 1.5 as I thought I'll take it easy and slow till I get the feel of the razor. I done a wtg then xtg using a derby premium blade then I changed it to the Merkur blade supplied for the 3rd pass atg as the Derby was struggling a bit as I had a week's growth. I waited 3 days before I had my second shave with it and this time I put it on setting 3 for wtg then 2 for xtg and finally 1 for atg using a Gillette Wilkinson saloon blade and the shave was so satisfying, smooth and a bbs. It's a hefty razor so a gentle touch is all that's needed with zero pressure and this razor sings to you as it takes your whiskers off with ease. So glad I bought it as it's a keeper for sure and as I'm not a daily shaver this serves my needs perfectly. If I go a full week again without shaving I'll go even higher like a 4 or 5 on the settings and take my time. To me shaving is not to be rushed but enjoyed by taking your time and this razor seems perfect to me for that. The very reasonable price was a deciding factor in me buying this razor with a 10% off at checkout plus the despatch and delivery was spot on. 😀👍
This razor looks way better in person and finishing is superb I had issue with my first order but they fixed it with my second order great customer service looks like I found my go to shaving store unfortunately soo many products out of stock
I placed my order on Sunday evening and it arrived Wednesday, well packaged and with the items in perfect condition. Prices were the best available for this product - even cheaper than Amazon! I'll definitely be considering further purchases - highly recommended!
Absolutely stunning razor in beautiful gold plating. Variable aggression with a lot of blade feel but if you go carefully produces a beautifully close shave on a par with the Muhle R41. Love it !
I’d heard mixed reviews about this razor, mostly about the size of the head being too big. Have to say I don’t find that the case at all, and it’s become my new go to. Can’t fault it

Well made with a reassuring weight to this razor. Not having used a double edge razor for many years it’s a challenge to adapt but one I am looking forward to.
