The Merkur Progress 570001 is an adjustable double edge safety razor supplied with a plastic storage case and 10 Merkur Super Platinum Double Edge Blades. The adjustable blade gap allows the shave feel to be changed to suit beard growth, skin tolerance and personal preference.
This two-piece razor is suitable for users who want more control than a fixed-head safety razor. Lower settings offer a milder feel, while higher settings increase blade exposure for heavier growth or a closer pass.

This is a nice compact adjustable that's easy to use - a classic Merkur design that starts at very mild, goes up to the level of Muhle Rocca and Edwin Jagger 2ONE6 with a larger blade gap and then beyond. The Futur is, it is true, more aggressive but also much larger and heavier, with a much fatter head. I prefer the "sports car" driving experience of the Progress, which now looks nice and smart with its chrome knob option and can be opened up beyond 5+ if you really need it. Great service and lightening fast delivery with excellent packaging from MGS

I got a level 5 on the first pass, a level 3 on the second pass, and a level 1 on the third pass, with great results.
An excellent product, adjustable setting is easy to use. The balance and grip aid a very close shave.
Merkur progress gives a nice shave, im still experimenting with blades, but not had a bad shave, Kai blades seem to suit me best at the moment but ill keep experimenting.

I am still getting confident with it but I had a great feeling since the first use.
I am even trying different blades at different gaps measures to find the optimal match.
Not for beginners and long handle lovers
