Let customers speak for us
from 157 reviewsIf you've ever used a plane or a spokeshave to work with wood, you'll appreciate the pleasure of using a well crafted tool designed for a specific job.
The Henson AL13-M is one of those tools.
This razor is very lightweight and complimented by the superb grip of the handle, you only need to use a thumb and two fingers to wield it.
In use it presents a flat surface with the blade at just the right angle for the shave. Not dissimilar to the aforementioned wood plane.
It comes with a pack of 'RK' blades although I have chosen to use the Japanese manufactured 'Feather' blades which have proven to be an excellent combination.
If you are new to safety razors or wish to upgrade I would highly recommend giving the Henson a try.

Very nice shaving cream with the most amazing sandalwood scent.

Before the Henson AL13 V2 I'd only ever used cartridge razors. Over the years, the quality of cartridge razors has continued to go down, while the price has gone up. I was fed up with cartridge razors, and looking for something better. I bought the Henson, and have had multiple shaves with it. Really easy to use, a clean shave, and--this surprised me--I'm actually looking forward to having my next shave. I'm in my forties and that has never happened before!

I own a lot of shaving brushes boar, synthetic, badger and horse hair.
I've bought this shaving brush to give it to a friend as a gift as I have it and use it often for my shaves and I really like it.
Usually boar brushes needs to brake them down a bit cos when you first use them are a bit stiff but after a month of use hairs split and becomes soft.
Not the case with this boar brush. Omega have put quality hair on this one cos since day one the hairs was soft and not harsh at all. Keep in mind though that boar brushes needs a good 20-30 min soaking before use.
I like this brush also because reminds me vintage shaving brushes.
The knot is 24mm that is not massive either very small. It can easily lather triple milled soaps , crop soaps and shaving creams no problems what so ever.
Excellent brush !!

Very easy to use . Extremely well made.

I had one of these when they were blue but sadly I misplaced it. Now I have a liquid wood one to go with the rest of my brushes and combs. Seller was fantastic, parcel well wrapped and received on time . With plenty of updates along the way. Well deserved 5stars.

I’ve been looking for this for a while and was surprised to see that it was here and in stock. I had to buy 2. I can’t fault the seller, my parcel was well wrapped and arrived on time and was updated all the way

I expect most people buy this for the Low setting (as they could get a normal shavette for the Medium setting and nobody wants the blade chatter of the High setting) so basically it's quite expensive for a mild low blade exposure shavette but it's such a good shave and so nicely made and wide enough frame to be stable in the hand. Much nicer than the regular SRX in my opinion and with practice the push load system is very reliable way of getting the blade right first time. I've owned a few other cheaper brands of shavettes including the unbranded china ones and if you are serious about shaving this way then get the PTABK as it oozes quality and is all you need. The shave with the Low setting is still super smooth much better than most safety razors can do so there really is no need to upgrade to the Medium setting. Be careful as even with the Low setting it's still possible to get nasty cuts.

I bought two Parker 78r razors - one for myself and one for my son-in-law.
I've been using a Parker 96r and a Merkur 38c for the last 5 years. Both are good razors but I think the 78r has the edge, for me anyway.
I've nothing but praise for the Male Grooming Supplies Team. Great price, next day delivery and excellent communication. Highly recommended.

I bought this brush thinking I was buying a badger brush, as I didn't read the description properly. It's actually hog bristle made to look like badger. Turns out this is not a problem at all. The brush is firmer than a badger brush - it has more "backbone" - but nevertheless it is easy to produce a full lather either in a bowl or on the face once you get used to it. The large knot means it covers a large area of the face quickly. I now prefer it to a badger brush. BTW the plastic stand it comes with is useless!

This razor has a mild feel to it, but don't let that fool you. It gives an excellent close shave. There is very little blade feel, which is fine by me as it is easy to use with the confidence that you're unlikely to cut yourself. The shave it gives is as close as some of my more aggressive razors. The long, slim handle has excellent knurling for a firm grip. I've also managed to get more shaves out of a blade with this razor than my others: 10 from a Gillette Nacet

The Quality of this razor is Absolutely Exceptional, I don’t however like the blades provided but maybe that’s a personal preference, I can’t honestly give a review on the shave itself as I’m still getting used to it but yes it does give a comfortable shave itself but I’m still getting used to how light the razor is and the angle but I’m sure that will come with a few more shaves …..

I have been using this product for quite a while and always found it to be of good quality and quick delivery

great case, makes a great pair with my merkur 34g. just wish there were other options by merkur for razor cases.
