About Safety Razors, Straight Razors & Shavettes
About All Razors
All Razors brings together the main shaving systems in one place, from double edge safety razors and adjustable safety razors to straight razors and shavettes, Mach 3 compatible razors, and travel razors.
Choosing a Razor Type
Choose a mild double edge option such as the Muhle R89 Safety Razor or Henson AL13 Aircraft Aluminium for a controlled daily shave. Choose the Muhle R41 Open Comb or Merkur 15C Open Comb when you want more direct stubble access, and compare Parker barber razors if you prefer a replaceable-blade straight razor style.
Blades, Cases, and Stands
A razor works best as part of a setup. Pair a DE razor with suitable double edge razor blades, keep it protected with shaving cases and accessories, and consider razor and brush stands if you want a tidier sink area.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which type of razor should I choose?
Choose a double edge safety razor for traditional shaving and blade choice, a Mach3 compatible razor if you prefer cartridges, or a straight razor or shavette if you want an open-blade style.
Are safety razors better for beginners?
A mild closed comb safety razor is often a good starting point because it is controlled and easy to learn. New wet shavers should also compare suitable double edge razor blades rather than judging the razor from one blade brand.
What should I buy with a new razor?
Match the razor with compatible blades, then add a lather product from shaving creams or shaving soap. A guard, case or stand from shaving accessories and cases is useful for storage.
Let customers speak for us
from 421 reviewsI had a different version of this razor a few years ago and having liked the design and look I thought I'll take a gamble and buy the real thing as it's so appealing to look at. I've read many reviews and even watched YouTube videos about this razor so I've done me homework. My first shave with it was on setting 1.5 as I thought I'll take it easy and slow till I get the feel of the razor. I done a wtg then xtg using a derby premium blade then I changed it to the Merkur blade supplied for the 3rd pass atg as the Derby was struggling a bit as I had a week's growth. I waited 3 days before I had my second shave with it and this time I put it on setting 3 for wtg then 2 for xtg and finally 1 for atg using a Gillette Wilkinson saloon blade and the shave was so satisfying, smooth and a bbs. It's a hefty razor so a gentle touch is all that's needed with zero pressure and this razor sings to you as it takes your whiskers off with ease. So glad I bought it as it's a keeper for sure and as I'm not a daily shaver this serves my needs perfectly. If I go a full week again without shaving I'll go even higher like a 4 or 5 on the settings and take my time. To me shaving is not to be rushed but enjoyed by taking your time and this razor seems perfect to me for that. The very reasonable price was a deciding factor in me buying this razor with a 10% off at checkout plus the despatch and delivery was spot on. 😀👍
I have the Henson AL13 Safety Razor V2.0 - Aircraft Aluminium, and this stand fits the razor perfectly. Great for resting the razor whilst it dries and for storing.
Decades ago I bought a standard brush. Didn't think it really mattered. It was so rough on my face I gave up. Turns out the brush does matter. I have especially delicate skin and this Muhle Classic Silvertip Fibre® Faux Ivory Shaving Brush makes sure it doesn't cause me any irritations whilst using it. Thankyou Muhle.
The customer care is second to none. I had a question after I placed an order and before it had been sent. The response was so quick and extremely helpful. Items were well packaged. Speedy delivery. Can’t fault the products. Thankyou Male Grooming Supplies.
Simpson’s shaving cream is the best I have used in over 60 years of shaving and this one, with a refreshing Lime scent is perfect and refreshing for Summer.
Having spent 55ish years using heavy, stainless steel razors from a variety of manufacturers, I was a little apprehensive forking out so much for an Aluminium alloy product. My fears were totally unfounded. This has been an epic experience, five shaves in five days with ZERO nicks or cuts. That, for me, is a novel situation - never happened before with a new (to me) razor, especially for my tough beard/sensitive skin combination.
The quality of the shave is truly BBS (baby bottom smooth), which lady-wife appreciates.
It's going to take a while longer to become accustomed to the lightweight hefty, but I'm sure I'll manage somehow.
The delivery was nice and quick, so no hanging around with a face full of stubble.
Would I recommend this razor? Yes, in a heartbeat. The same goes for the vendor. I am a happy bunny all around.
Fantastic razor, a brilliant upgrade from my trusty Edwin Jagger.
Great service and quick delivery. Would highly recommend!
The 180 ml Alexander Simpson Ultraglide Sandlewood shaving cream is the best shaving cream I have used in over 60 years of shaving. It comes to a rich, creamy lather on the brush, feels great on the skin and provides a smooth comfortable and close shave. The best available in my view and it lasts well too.
Truth be told, I bought this for a relative, so I have no personal thoughts to give. However, I am told that the gift went down a treat - exactly what was wanted! So, on that basis I reckon it deserves top marks.
What I can speak personally about is the brilliant service I received from MGS - again. Well packed, and delivered the very next day. Thank you, all!
Included in the parcel was an unexpected surprise: a 70gm puck of Cyril Salter lavender shaving soap! Now, I have quite a lot of soaps and creams to get through before I get round to this one; but get round to it I will - and then I can leave an honest review. Meanwhile, I must say that was a very kind gesture and much appreciated! Thank you, again.
This is my second of the Semogue SOC C5 brushes, the first having been the cherry wood handle example bought some time ago. Why I like them is because I find them - for my medium/large hand - ergonomically sound and comfortable to hold. Being a modern synthetic the bristles are soft but with plenty backbone. The loft may seem quite tall at 59mm but it is an excellent latherer both for swirling or using in a 'painterly' fashion. Recommended!
The good folk at MGS also deserve honourable mention for their brilliant service: I placed my order in the morning of one day and received the goods the next, well wrapped and protected in a substantial cardboard box. Thank you!
Excellent all round, many thanks
Muhle Closed Comb Black Safety Razor R106
Anyone familiar with Parker razors will know that, in general, they tend to be more on the aggressive side. The 78R is an exception. This is a mild/medium razor with barely any blade feel which, for a daily shaver (especially with sensitive skin) is a joy to use! Paired with a sharp blade (aren't they all??), (e.g. I used a Nacet blade, but, as always, YMMV) and a good-quality soap or cream, a smooth, comfortable, irritation-free shave is pretty much in the bag. Maybe not quite as ''autopilot'' as the Parker Aeroshave razor, but very close. For me, this razor is a 'keeper', and I'm so glad I bought it. If I had a 'gripe' it would be about the long, skinny handle; but when I consider all the positive things about this razor, the handle is hardly worth a mention. In any case, because it uses the standard M5 thread, it could always be swapped out for a different handle.
Many thanks, as usual, go to the good folk at MGS who, despite my ordering after the 3.00pm deadline, managed to get my well-wrapped parcel into the post for delivery the day after. Brilliant! Thank you!
For sure a mild razor - but that's what I like. For a daily shaver with sensitive skin this razor is pretty ideal. Paired with a decent blade (I used a Nacet blade, but others would be just as good), and a quality shaving soap or cream this is one of those 'autopilot' razors that doesn't demand 100% attention for every second of the shave; and being lightweight allows you to factor in your own level of pressure that is comfortable for you. It's nimble and manoeuvrable and getting those whiskers under the nose is a doddle. I don't chase BBS but the Aeroshave provides me with a DFS+ shave that lasts the day; and that I'm more than happy with.
With a blade gap of .59mm and a small amount of blade exposure this is definitely NOT a razor for mowing down several days' growth of beard, and nor should it be expected to; but if you shave on a daily basis - and have sensitive skin to boot - the Aeroshave is worth serious consideration. Horses for courses, and all that.
Service from the gentlefolk at MGS is excellent. I ordered this razor (along with another item) after the 3.00pm cut-off time and yet it still arrived, well packed and in good order, the following day! Thank you!
